Hi, my PSP is running very slow and struggling to download or play any kind of media. Battery level is showing full so can anyone suggest what the problem could be?
Thanks

Default CPU speed is 222MHz. Max it can go is 333MHz.

You could try searching for complaints/posts from 2005 to confirm. You're right, it was to conserve battery but I don't recall Sony ever releasing a batch of PSPs whose clock frequency is set to 333 MHz by default. It's always 222 MHz for XMB. I think they unlocked 333 on a firmware update so UMD Games can change the clock frequency, but that's it.

I remember reading some were that you could change it to 222 to save battery
There four meaning that the default speed had to be a bit higher.
But your probibly right, i never really looked into it to see.
