If you want to use your hard modded pandora battery as a normal battery, one way is (Which you have been using) to start the psp with power cord and then inserting the battery........... The other way is to install Dark Alex's TIME MACHINE software in your memory card...... It's main use is to load previously released firmwares from the memory stick using a Pandora's battery.. but it could also be use to normally boot the psp from internal flash memory using pandora battery & memory stick with time machine software in it ......... It'll be helpfull to use your pandora battery like normal battery when you are on move & there's no power adaptor........ But since you are new to whole psp hacking scene i would suggest you to do a lot of research if you want to attempt this .......... Well then ..... GOOD LUCK & Have Fun with your CFW !!! | well thank you again for telling me all about the time machine, i was wondering what thats all about. now i know what it is. anyway, i went ahead and tried to solder back the pin, [thats before reading your post] oops lol! i had placed something between the contacts so i wont short the other pin, i have a very thin solder point. i also filled in the railing on the left of the pcb (one youre supp to), reconnected my switch and tried it with the psp.. nothing.. it acted how i expected it to be, a permanent pandora, lol. but i went ahead and made a hole for the switch, heres what it looks like.
i think thats pretty, if only it worked how its supposed to haha! anyway,
ill do alot of reading about dark alex's time machine, and see if that will work for me. thank yo so much again, i never thought i could fix the battery back to normal, i was about given up on the idea until you mentioned abt the time machine! how wonderful! i really hope that would work out for me, cause i dont have the money to buy a new battery just yet, it kinda hurts my pocket thinking about it, idk why they have to be priced like that! o well LOL
thank you again!! i really appreciate you following up on my post! youre great!

If you cut the 5th pin and it broke completely,
try repairing it with some conductive lacquer.
I don't know the english name of it but in German
it's called "Silberleitlack". If I translate it directly it
would be something like silver-conductive-lacquer.
It is like a paint, so you can just draw a line between
the two contacts and after some minutes it dries.
If something went wrong with this lacquer you
can remove it and do it again.
It worked just fine for me! |

How-To: Switchable Pandora PSP-Slim Battery (Hard-Mod)
Ok, i am probably going to do this. I have already taken the battery apart and i checked to make sure it still works. I have a ripped xbox 360 headset wire, and there are little copper wires inside. Can i use these to connect the two points?, also would it work to tape hem down, then take it off after the install to turn it into a regular battery again? Also, if i tape it down and one of the wires come off or something during install of CFW 3.90m33-3, would it ruin it?
Thanks ALOT |

Thanks ALOT | Q. I have a ripped xbox 360 headset wire, and there are little copper wires inside. Can i use these to connect the two points?
A. Yeah any wire which conduct electricity can be used ..... just make sure its thin..... The two points are pretty small so it will be easy to work with thin wire
Q. also would it work to tape hem down, then take it off after the install to turn it into a regular battery again?

A. i am not sure about that but i think its only necessary that two point should be in contact till the power light of the PSP is green & pandora menu shows up ....... i dont think wire coming off while in the middle of the installation will ruin your psp ...... But then again i'm not entirely sure ......... What may be bad is that your wire come off and it make contact with other small chip, circuit etc.. & shorting them out during installation........ In that case your battery may fail & you may end up with bricked psp if it happens during Firmware installation.

OK, just one more question, I see that the cutting of the little line on the side is alot easier to do. Is this method reliable to get my battery working again normally? I really dont want to spend 40 buck on a new battery.
Thanks |

Thanks | Cutting the trace works too ........ But i have seen very few people on the internet doing that .......... & to make the battery normal again you have to rejoin the line with a pencil or conductive ink ......... But before attempting this method read the comments of the user who have attempted this method on the internet and be 100 % sure.... cos you have to physically damage the circuit board in this method,.... and if retracing the line does not work then you will end up with permanent pandora

I just got done loading 3.71 M33-2 using only some speaker wire and scotch tape on the battery! So simple, though it did take about 10 tries for it to make the connections.
Before that, I was @ it for over 4 hours trying solder a small USB switch (the same kind used by dogafin, “looks koool!”) but I just couldn’t do it, my soldering iron is too big and the parts are just too small! O-WELL!!
Thanks JayL. |

Te "ColdHeat" soldering gun at radio shack is great for tiny solder points on circuit bords. I haven't done this (because I hard modded mine before I even know this existed) but I am tempted to repair my battery and try this out. (put a switch between the two points where my pin 5 used to be). |
