Battery turning Hot is not a very good sign..... But inspite of that, Is your battery Ok ??,..... If it is then you can give another try.... If you are unable to solder the point you can try using tape to hold the wire in place... A guy at maxconsole tried it and it worked... He posted few pics,.. have a look at them and see whether you can do it,... here's the link
CFW 3.71 M33 onto SLIM (3.60), no Soldering, Cutting or PSP Fat - MaxConsole Forums
..... If it works i will suggest not to continue using the battery further.. cos you never know with a over-heating battery,... Use power adaptor till you get enough cash to buy a new battery

You can also make pandora battery by scratching the copper trace ..... You can find info on that in this tread
http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-har...ery-guide.html (Easy-To-Use Pandora's Battery Guide) ..... (Scroll Down To psp slim battery section & Read the lines marked in red carefully) ...... After you are done with the mod you can retrace the line with a pencil to make it normal .... Or even if the battery does not turns back to normal you can always use Dark Alex's time machine software or Booster's Multiloader IPL to use your pandora battery as normal
