that has a 2gb limit on it. so 2 2gb sticks = 4gb, and the entire setup costs more then just buying a 4gb, not to mention is bulky

Trust me guys, this is no mod for noobs. PVP built his own microcontroller board and programmed it for raw data output over USB. It's not a simple "buy the parts and hook them up" job, rather a lot of SMD soldering and handcoding whatever firmware you'll be running your microcontroller from. Expect to pay $100+ for parts, provided you even know how to use them.

Of course, PVP may be friendly and give out his source code, but that still leaves the hardware to deal with.

Meh, doesn't seem worth trying to get working compared to what he has in the works. Around page 5 or 6 on that thread someone said PvP was working on a way to get any USB drive to work as storage for the PSP.

right, this would be impossible to do by most people, including myself, however, this does open many doors for third parties. An 8 gig mem stick is about $100.. thats far too expensive to even consider. However, how many of you would spend $200 on an 30 gig internal hdd.. mass production may drop the price even further.
