Default PSP slim battery in fat= dead?

Yes I know. Stupid.

Had a problem with booting up the VHS menu (it would just flash once and disappear) and I enlisted the help of my friend. We tried everything, including switching memory cards and removing it, and plugging in the power. Then we thought it could be the battery or something. Then we proceeded to use his psp slim battery in my fat psp. It worked, sure enough, but the menu wouldn't boot properly still. So I returned the battery to him and to our horror, realised it stopped working altogether. The slim battery just died. It's as useless as a paperweight now. I have no idea what the hell happened, and why it even fit in the fat one in the first place (it does, just not fully). Ironically the VHS menu appeared properly when I pressed the screen brightness button as it booted. But my main concern is the slim battery which is totally dead now. I have to pay! =(

slim batteries wont fit properly in a fat so this whole story doesn't make sense.

(I know because I own both and tried to switch them around, the fat fits in a slim, but not the other way around)

You can if you stick the part that actually connects with the psp to supply the power in first. But I don't suggest you try it.

Just take it out of your psp for awhile, then put it back after about 10 hours, should be fine.

I had same problem, dead slim battery when I used it to put CFW on fat.

Yes, JonTan's answer is dead on ^^

But I decided to put mine in zip-lock bag and put in freezer for 1-2hrs.
(thanks to youtube)

Works fine now!

I guess since 1200 has used on 2200 based fat psp, battery needs to be cooled off of its extra charges...(lol just my assumption, but it works).

that's all, and you're good to reuse it mate.

Don't waste buying another.

peace.
