Default Another Pandora Battery Guide

I know some may burn me for making yet another pandora guide. With so many noobs still questioning with stupid questions i figured psh' why not take a crack at it.

-FIRST OF TWO WAYS: THE HARD MOD-

Personally I used the 3.6v 1200mAh battery. Its the same chip for all Pandorable
batteries.

(battery must have at least 78% charge.)

(My battery)

Required Tools:
-Razor/Exacto Knife
-Screw Driver (kinda optional depending on your cutting skillz)
-Some tape (if you possibly wanna easily open it back up) or some glue (for more permanent repair)
-A needle
-A pencil (you'll under stand later)

Step 1: Find your chip

(this is my battery)

Step 2: Break the lil bastard of a pin!

(Its the 5th pin. Read the writing on the chip match it up with this pic)

DOUBLE AND TRIPLE CHECK BEFORE TAKING ACTION!!!
ounce you have checked it over and over again and have some bravery, use the needle i told you to get to break the pin. If your having trouble, I barely broke it then applied downward pressure to bend the pin down and away from the chip.

Step 2.5 (slim only!): Use the pencil and write with a decent pressure on it where the blue is.

Step 3: Put her back together!

NO picture is really needed for this step since its self explaining.

-Tape: wrap ONE layer of CLEAR scotch/packaging tape around the battery. that is usually enough. Any more and the battery get EXTREMELY tight fitting and isn't easy to use.

-Glue: Put a little bit of glue on the edges of the battery casing (black part) and put them together. You can here sort of a click on mine when the edges meet up and are put together. Then let it dry.

-SECOND OF TWO WAY: THE SOFT MOD (lucky bastards who can do this on there first pandora.)

Requirements:
- Appropriate version of U.P.M.S. ( use sapphire v4 on my PSP slim with cfw 3.90m33-3)

-Battery with at least 78% charge(not a newly release one [sony changed the batteries])

Step 1: install the application I told you to get.

You will only need the install with out utilities.

Step 2: Battery Creation

Go to the "Battery Menu." and chose "Backup Battery to (ms0: eeprom.bin)
when your backed up then chose "Create Pandora Battery"

Step 3: Usage

Take the battery out and put it back in. VERY SIMPLE

Step 4: Converting back to normal

Go to "Battery Menu"
Chose either "Restore Serial only from (ms0: eeprom.bin) - (0xffffffff)" or "Make Normal Battery (Random Serial)"

The first option is if you did not format the memory stick in the MMS process (explained after this section)

The second option is if you DID reformat the battery.

-done with the battery

***THE MMS***

I will explain TWO VERY EASY OPTIONS

For a psp with official firmware still ----> Option 1 (will install 3.80m33-5): http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-sof...full-lite.html ([RELEASE] Catb50 Team's Magic Memory Stick Creator v2.0 FULL & LITE)

very easy and the program will give you step by step instructions

A psp with CFW ---->Option 2 (will install 3.90m33-3): Desperter del Cementerio v5
Dark-AleX - PSP Developer

Go toward the bottom of the page and you'll find it. Click version 5 to download.
Now copy the DC5 fold to the game folder on your PSP.
Now go to the menu under game under mem stick and open up the program. Make sure not to be using a Custom Theme at the time you do this
. Then do what the program tells you to. VERY SIMPLE

Did you do it right?
this video shows you what it all should look like after its made and how to use it.
YouTube - What the final steps should look like

Can the U.P.M.S. program be used for the Phat?

I've never heard of that before

Dude, sweet : ]

I'm going to do that right now ^_^

haha

What's a recommended download for it?

And I'm reading some stuff that I'm getting confused about.

Do I need a PSP with CFW already on it to use this program?
Or can I use a Virgin PSP (One that hasn't been CFW'd)

I guess what I'm asking is that can I use this program to make pandora battery if I don't have CFW using this UPMS program?

Default Another Pandora Battery Guide

Once I use the Pandora battery and press (X) the psp starts booting from the memory stick which contains the Custom Firmware? It then starts installing it right? Am I correct?

Yes your correct.

TR1X for an easier more Vista/XP friendly Magic Memory Stick maker with easy to use appearance, I suggest you put in this guide Rains MMS Maker.

I will post a link shortly.

File Details-Rain-s-Simple-MMS-Maker-v1.0-PSP-Homebrew-Applications -

That works with Vista and XP, unlike Catb50's which is only XP friendly.
