That means no communication to: internet, most external usb storage devices, modems, ect. for older computers sure, but with computers that are sold with vista, it's more hit-and-miss the vista itself. So have some consideration for those of ust who have to deal with this retarded present from microsoft.

there are drivers... you just have to be creative.
find out what chips are on your motherboard, figure out if they had a slightly older model with the same components. a quick internet search will turn up the drivers.

vista problems, how to fix?
Easy fix for vista. Go look for Booster's Multi IPL install that instead of the other IPL, as Booster's IPL does not need mspformat to install. Then just install all the other necessary Pandora files pop in your battery and hold the left trigger button and you are all set. "Make Pandora on Vista" simple!

that's just a little hard with a brand new sony vaio laptop. I understand the concept, and it works with most desktops, but laptops are a bit different.

vista problems, how to fix?
i was never able to get any installers to work on vista basic, so this might be an issue for the poster (although i havent tried any of the recent ones). i had no issues with using them on vista premium.
If you still have problems, or someone used the search feature and is reading this in the future, you can run a third party partition manager to do this. google partition magic
you can use the trial version and it will be fine if you have a 4 gig or below.
256 bytes in the first sector

vista problems, how to fix?
Fantastic, we've got participants from both sides of the fray: the XP diehards and the Vista blowhards. Personally, when I tried doing anything with the Vista command prompt, I got all kinds of errors when I was trying to use msinst or mspformat. And yeah, it was running in administrator mode. By default, as a matter of fact, since I did, of course, have an administrator account. Before any Vista zealots interject, yes, I went to far as to right-click the shortcut and "click Run as Administrator" just to be sure. And yes, the titlebars of both windows were identical.
To the OP, the best suggestion that I can give (and I apologize that it's been horribly overstated) is to get Windows XP yourself, or find someone that does have it, and temporarily commandeer their system. When I went from a Vista machine to an XP machine, as others have attested, the problems were solved without further issue.
Good luck.

Yeah, the Command Prompt that Vista has is a little too bi-polar for my liking.
Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
@ Drew:
I had a hard time with the drivers on Premium.
I would have to install them twice to actually be found, then when it was installed the second time, it recognized the first, and wouldn't want to install.
It didn't make any sense to me, but I got it working.
It also had this thing where it wrote something twice into an area from the disk and would crash itself on startup. That wasn't very fun.
Vista also wrote its Windows folder twice, but didn't complete the second folder, not sure why it even started a second Windows folder, but that led to more problems.
I think I'm all under control with it now.
Pretty much, what I have to say to Vista users; just keep fighting with it. Vista has so many "security" features that it will fight itself. Biggest thing that I found that helped was to disable some of the features.
If you have a Windows Firewall running and another firewall running that you put onto your computer, that might also cause some issues.

Found it. I have windows vista home premium and I finally found a mms maker that works. Check the sig. It's quick and easy as pressing enter. lemme know if there are any problems! Best of luck.
