Default vista problems, how to fix?

okay, i hardmodded my battery, but with my memory stick, when i tried to hardmod it, i got the two errors, one which gave me open write error, and another to do with partitions. i know about switching off mspformat, but the partition error still came up, and instead of open write error, i just got write error. how can i fix these?

lol yeah get xp, but it would take a little less time to bring up your start menu type cmd into search and then hit ctrl+shift+enter. then run your format... on the memstick not c:\ ... or maybe you should run c

hit start, search for cmd, right click - run as administrator.

format X: /fs:fat (replace x with the letter of the drive), that takes care of mspformat.

Make a folder in your c: drive called pandora, place msinst and msipl.bin in there.

In the command prompt type cd C:\pandora
then type msinst x msipl.bin (replace x with your letter) then you're done.

He asked how to fix Vista. That's Microsofts job, they haven't been able to.
The fix is to install XP.

Default vista problems, how to fix?

i wouldnt go back to xp for the world. Vista is awesome, i havent had any bugs so far (i dont think this one is a bug). totalnewbie went through without any problems, but when i pop in the battery it turns on, but no crazy amount of flashing. Does it need full charge for it to run the program, or does totalnewbie not work for vista
p.s. if anyone here made their magic memory stick using vista, what did you do/use? and is it even possible to make a magic memory stick using a psp running OFW?

Default vista problems, how to fix?

ok, I've noticecd that there are members saying to just get xp, format drive c: and install xp, ect. Unfortunately for most, that will cause more problems. i just dual booted my laptop with xp pro. good, good. but then I find out there are NO, absolutely NO drivers supported for it. That means no communication to: internet, most external usb storage devices, modems, ect. for older computers sure, but with computers that are sold with vista, it's more hit-and-miss the vista itself. So have some consideration for those of ust who have to deal with this retarded present from microsoft.

Default vista problems, how to fix?

Ha

No kidding...Vista is horrible on a build...I can only imagine what its like on a cookie cutter.

BUT, back to the topic.
I used just a regular, "Do it yourself" Installer, nothing automatic, i.e. Catb50 I think.

It didn't work the first time with vista, but I kicked it in the shin and tried a second time and it loaded up just fine.

I think you just need some persistence?
Not sure.

I know that you just got your CFW up and running, but another thing that you could try and do is download the Vista Service Pack that came out not too long ago.
Might have something to do with it?
