Starting Out

kay kay... ill help you out i started out the same as you with 1.0 and i was like "WTF HOW DO I DO THIS"

Step1. go update to 1.50.... <http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php?id=4> to upgrade....format your memstick(to get all the folders) in the system settings conect your psp to your computer look in your memory stick...and you should see a folder called "PSP" inside there there should be a folder called "GAME"(place the EBOOT.PBP from the zip you downloaded into your GAME folder). then exit usb mode on your psp and go to the psp menu(aka xmb) go to Game and look in Mmory StickTM inside there should be an update thingy...update it and your done

Dont double, triple, QUADRUPLE? post, dude.
But yea you just need to go to:

http://exophase.com/files/psp/390m33_3.rar

And put that in your memory stick.
When you attach your psp to your comp it should say your drive letter.
In the folder, you will either have, or need to create a folder called: PSP
Inside PSP, make another folder called GAME.
Place that eboot in the GAME folder.
THen unplug your psp and go to the game icon in the xmb and go to memory card
Click the update icon and it should install 3.9 m33.
I'm pretty sure thats all you gotta do to get CFW.

Oh if the previous link doesn't work,

You don't need to make the UPDATE folder in the older firmwares.

if im not mistaken i think you need 3.52m33-somthing to install 3.90

Okay, do I have to connect the PSP to the computer, I cant just copy it to the memory card via a reader? So, I am at 1.5, do I need to make the UPDATE folder or not? I tried copying the 3.52 M33 Update3 to the UPDATE folder I created and then went to GAME under the menu and it just said corrupted data. Remember, I am just starting out, I have a newly formatted 2Gb Mem Stick Duo. Thats it, nothing else done. Forgive me if I am missing a step.

Tried via usb as well. Formatted the mem stick, then made UPDATE folder under PSP\GAME\ and it still says that it is corrupt data. I am running Vista 64 bit if that makes a diff.

Not all the files might be getting copied over because vista is gay like that but if you need help and you have aim you can im me at dormpwn and I will be glad to help.

I thought it was just one file. Sorry no aim, appreciate the offer though. I have an xp machine I can use. I will try to copy it that way and let ya know. It is only one file, correct?

Tried copying it over with the XP machine and the PSP still says corrupt. You go under game, then down to Memory Stick, correct? Any idea what Im doing wrong
