struggling.. just a little bit!
Alright so yesterday my mom brings me a psp, it's my cousins, but they think he stole it so I'm "holding onto it" until they find out.
It's a fat one, so I turn it on, check the firmware and its 3.30 oe-a! i had no idea if that was a modded one or not so i checked, and sure enough it was! I got realllyyy excited and upgraded it to the most current 3.9 cfw and then restarted and blam. brick.
so i got pissed, and learned how to make that battery into a pandora. and fixed it. i did the hard mod and it went straight into the recovery thing and voila, fixed psp with the most current CFW.
but now, I'm trying to mod MY psp, I have a slim with 3.95 ofw and when i insert the magic memory stick and battery, the light turns green for a second and turns off. so im thinking its a bad memory stick, so i re make it a million times, so now when i put in the stick and the battery, just a steady green light. no card activity, no screen activity. nothing.
i read somewhere that you just press X and it does its thing, well i pressed x after 3 or 4 mins of idle and nothing happened. so i'm in a rut!
and now when i try to test it out on the phat psp, i don't get anything. not even the console to repair it or w/e.
help from someone, anyone, please! and also how do I make a MMS because I can't find the same guide that worked the first time again.

Two things -
1: the battery may not have enough charge. It needs to be at least 78% charged to do any CFW.
2. With the battery out, put the MMS in first, then put the battery in. See what happens.

Battery seems to be OK as the green light is ON ................ Try using cat50's Magic Memory Stick Creator to make MMS

heh i did use that one, but unfortunately i'm on vista and i get errors even as running in compatibility with xp sp2, run as admin, and such.
still haven't tried turning off user account control but will do that in a few.
and also, the battery has been at like 73, and was at 68 last time i checked. maybe thats why! :-) lets hope!

If your below 78% and you have to do a blind install - this would explain everything you are experiencing - I suggest charge it to 100%, try again. If you can't see anything on the screen an no blinky lights, press X. You should see s blinky light to the left. Wait until it stops. Press X again and PSP should turn off.

how do i make a memory stick again. i tried some pandora one but it doesn't work, and i tried the Catb50 but i get errors because i'm on vista.
when i put the stick in and put in the battery the light stays green.
i can't turn it on or anything and even if i press X there is no activity. also the screen is still blank.
the charge is 100%
lol this is weirddd
edit: i've been searching on here for the guide i used for the first memory stick and i can't find it. haha..
edit # 2 : i successfully got it! the mms creater i had was on my desktop, i kept overlooking it, but its called PSP grader. it works great and updates to 3.80 m33-4 or w/e it is and then you can just go to network update and it updates to the newest one. gotta love dark-alex :-)

no the firmware does not come with homebrew. homebrew is the name for programs and other like things made by people at home. the psp does not come with homsbrew when you update to cfw it is just homebrew enabled.

hey i was just playing your halo homebrew! the graphics were all messed up so i think something is wrong with where i put the files or something.
but another question for everyone, what is there to do with these things?
i've got some emulators, and i also want to back up my crisis core but it seems too confusing, but i don't think my 1 gig stick would hold it anyway. i've got BOOKR so i can read some books that hopefully go to .pdf soon.
are there other things to do? like maybe, an advanced media player? or cheat systems for current psp games, i saw something about an xbox 360 dashboard xmb theme or something??? i would love that!
any help and suggestions on making this thing a ton of fun let me know!
