Default buying a pre-modded PSP

I'm looking at purchasing a PSP, however after seeing that people who are buying new PSP's need to downgrade in order to modify their PSP. Is it possible to buy a pre-modded PSP? If so where from? And if anyone has bought a pre-modded PSP how did it go?

You can get a pandora tool battery from dealextreme for 10 bux or a datel tool maker from codejunkies for 20 + shipping. I'd only buy a used psp if you are looking to get it cheaper than retail. Modding is too cheap and easy to pay a premium for it.

Yes, you'll be able to mod your psp easily and no, you don't need to install any kind of chip. Read this page: h ttp://www.blastprocessing.net/?page_id=20 . I followed it myself a couple of weeks ago using a datel tool maker from codejunkies to make the battery. It's very simple to follow and links to all of the files you need to make a magic memory stick. It will install 3.80m33; you can then use the built-in network update function to update to 3.90m33-3.

I've modded a few...

you can go a few ways here...
1) Buy a used PSP (Fat/Slim) and get your tools. **Cheap way**
2) Buy a new PSP (Slim) and get your tools. looking at $165 to $199
3) Buy a Pre Modded PSP online... $200 and up **Expensive**

No luck on tools... or really can't understand how it all works... Find someone around where you live and see if they can help you mod.

I live near Modesto CA, last month I spent a day at the mall. I didn't shop, I sat outside in the shade with my laptop, a folder with pictures of Themes, and my PSP... I made a little sign "PSP Modding" I charged $10, whatever Firmware you want, whatever theme you want... I had a line of people standing infront of me for 2 hours... I made over $300 in one day just helping people out... that was the only day that I made money... because it's so easy to do... I posted on myspace that I was going to be in a certian area and peeps flocked to me... I useualy just mod on the go... if there is a kid on the bus, i ask him if he wants to be the coolest kid in school? BAM modded psp. I don't supply games, or Movies, but i do hand out a flier of how to back up games and movies... I let them find things out for themselves...

thankyou slippy u are a champion... that site u gave me has everything i need... i am buying a psp with 3.71 software on it. but if u say following that site will install 3.80 then i'll do that after i get it... and pbucch thanx for the offer. i may take u up on it.. however i am from a pal region and u an ntsc.. does the PSP hav the ability to have different regions? i know that you can buy GBA games from anywhere in the world as it doesn't distinguish between reasons as most ppl that buy games are travelling with it... Is the PSP the same? can i buy games from america and play them on a PSP which i have purchased in australia?

Games are region free. Movie UMDs are locked to specific regions.
