Default Replacing entire PSP case...

Hey guys, I just got my PSP a little while back and so far I absolutely love it. Its the phat version, and as far as I can tell it has the TA-082 motherboard. Anyways, I ordered entire new (ceramic white woot!) casing as well as buttons and an analog stick, (and some repair parts just in case) and I need some help.

I want to replace the case and take it apart as little as possible (less chance of harming it) I have read the guide on llamma.com about complete PSP disassembly, but I still had some questions.

Has anyone else replaced their entire case, what did have to be disconnected and taken apart, and what didn't? Any tips/tricks? I'm not new to electronics, but I am new to PSP modding.

Thanks,
-Kiden

Umm..you said you want to take it as little as possible? Well its a lot of work and takes quite some time. Let me just yell you that DON"T HAVE THE PSP ON DURING THE PROCESS. Heres the thing, if the psp is on and the screen is on don't take the screen off while the psp is on. Or else you will blowout your backlight fuse. Then you may end up like me in which I tried to by-pass it and ended up with a psp that will never turn on. So make sure that you do everything as careful as possible. Its not that hard.

i can get the front cover off in like a minute. its pretty simple all you have to do it take out a few screws and the UMD door. i just ordered a crystal casing for my psp soo i can wait to put it in. make sure you have the right size phillips and a good place to put all the little screws. also watch how your tightening the screws because i messed up a face plate i had by stripping the threads on the face plate. just take your time and dont break anything lol.

Alright, I will remember that, I need a new set of presicion screwdrivers anyways lol. And yea it would really suck to strip the threads, cause I'm really impatient and it would kill me to have to wait for another one to ship

I replaced my phat case with a clear case. Looks great, but extremely difficult the first time.

Somes tips:
Make sure you REMEMBER where all your screws go.
Don't break any of the pieces that connect the wires on your motherboard.
Careful when you take the UMD back door out. It's a little B****.

After the first time or two, it should be extremely easy. I can take my whole psp apart with no problem in less than 5 or 10 mins.
