Unmodable battery question
Im thinking about getting another slim to mod and i saw this thread about sony putting unmodable psp batterys in there new psps. My question is, can i still use the datel service tool(a device that turns battery into mods and back) to convert the battery into a mod battery or is the new unmodable battery just to prevent hardmods(Opening battery)? You can find the service tool in codejunkies if you dont know what it is. |

Oh and also is there a good chance that 1-2weeks from now my local gamestop store will still have psp slims that dont have have the unmodable batterys in them?

Unmodable battery question
you know im not really sure, but i thnk currently it only prevents hardmods, but unless you order the slim from sonny most of them still are the old batts, also if you do get an umoddable batt, you can always buy the max powere pack wich are currently modable.

Unmodable battery question
So with the new battery that sony released to prevent hacking, you cant hardmod it as in opening the battery and soldering it, but you can softmod as in putting it in the service tool to switch it into a pandora. Kinda confused with the last two posts, srry. |

You can not use the service tool to softmod the new pandora proof batteries.
The Pandora Proof batteries are pandora proof because Sony remove the capability of writing to the eeprom.
You can still hardmod them from what I have seen.
Also, these are only with Sony batteries. Datel batteries can still be softmodded.

.. | So if i buy a datel battery thats basically the same specs as a new sony psp battery i can use the service tool to mod it. is this correct? |

So the battery from datel that says TOOL in cap letters on the battery is the same as a regular psp battery but used for softmod. My question is, if i buy it can i use the service tool on it and will it fit in a psp slim & lite? Wait and also since i already have the service tool and i dont wanna waste money on a datel tool battery how can i check if the battery that the new slim brings is pandora proof? anything on the outside that gives it away or do i have to crack it open?
