Default Motherboard Identification

sorry first post and I'm sure this has been asked before elsewhere. But I just recently purchased the God of War bundle psp. According to all guides I've found you can identify what hardware board you are running by peeking through the UMD drive, but in my psp there is no hole to view the motherboard or pcb on.

Is there another way of doing this?

Open up your PSP completely is another way, it's not too difficult even if you don't have a guide.

There's got to be an easier way. Not everyone wants to take apart thier PSP even if it is educational.

AFAIK there wasn't a mobo change since the Slim so just Google around.

Actually why don't you research before you post. The Slim motherboard has changed from TA-085v2 to TA-088. They changed the mobo so you can't pandora it.

And you have to void your warranty to take off the faceplate. That once screw they put under the seal is such an ass.

Damn, I hope people will still be able to buy PSP's that are NOT pandora proof! I'm talking years from now.

To my knowledge there are still GoW PSPs that are not pandora proof. In fact I modded one recently that wasn't pandora proof and included a pandorable battery.

Keep exchanging your PSP in until you get one that doesn't have the 2nd mother board.

I have a GoW PSP, and mine was not pandora-proof. If it helps at all I got my GoW PSP the day they were released

Whoops yeah you're right. I read that a bit after posting...

I assume they aren't going to change the regular slim mobo for a while?

There's no reason to change it. Sony is satisfied the way it is.
