Want to mod psp slim (God of war), but I have a few questions first
I have a few questions
1) what percent of people get sparks? or fire, or it explodes trying to open it?
2) what is the best way not to ruin the battery (with sparks)
3) which side do i open the battery?
4) should I try to open it outside? (incase it sparks or starts on fire)
5) how loud would it be if it explodes?
6) will it still do remote play or not?
7) can I mod my slim battery that came with it? ( I do plan on buying a new battery next monday, but that will be used so I can have one modded battery and one regular battery to use)
8) can you softmod this battery? or just hardmod?

1.70% maybe..depend on the person, how cautious he is..
2.softmod,u can use battery tool,ex:datel battery tool,
buy tool battery from dealextreme.
3.all side,start with left,right bottom,them up,and depend on u..(most dangerous process)
4.the sparks is small,fire..NO
5.never experince that
6.depend on you,,if u want CFW,u should,
7.google it,try Login
8.i bet you can..
9.yeah,u can mod it..but do some more research.

Want to mod psp slim (God of war), but I have a few questions first
Should I buy the whole psp pandora battery and 2gb memory stick duo? or just the PSP pandora battery? I have a 4gb memory card, and what all would I need to download onto the 4gb memory card to get it to be a mms? and downgrade and then put custom firmware on it, and plus how fast is dealextreme with sending there items? should I buy a pre paid credit card or just use my reg. cc?

Welcome to the world of hacking/modding. It is a lot of fun and can also be a source of headaches if you don't do your homework.
Obviously, opening the battery CAN be an exhilarating experience. Something a lot of these style forums may not completely establish is when you first start to open the thing up is to remember one major cardinal rule...
MINIMAL is always the best approach. In other words, go at it a little bit at a time. Just using slight pressure for starters will set the stage for using more pressure later. You just have to start cautiously.
Sparks? Well... If you saw sparks, then you missed the cardinal part of this post. You really have to be extra careful with the new lithium ion batteries. ANY breach of the small layered cells you could be in for a REAL ride. Now the smaller cells used for the slim psp won't start a new California wild fire, but it WILL fornicate the Fido. You just Gotta go slow. Plus, original battery replacement ain't cheap.
You don't have to go outside to open it. Unless you don't follow the cardinal rule... and you want to really go at this with gusto, then yeah, maybe outside would be a good idea. That way if the battery starts to heat up you can just toss it in the yard.
Will it detonate? No. It is pretty small and the actual final current going through it isn't enough for an 'explosion'.
Where can you get games? Well... you may not want to ask about that stuff on this forum site. There is a REAL gray area about copyright infringements. I call them the RIAA and DRM Nazis. If you want information on this area contact my email address, but I will not justify nor condone my conduct on this forum. This, sorry to say, is not the place for that subject.
Personally, I bought a Pandora battery from a reseller. I just didn't want to fool around with trying to figure out all the different moddings with the different batteries. Given your battery, I lay 98% odds that the only way you can mod it is to HARD mod. The newer slim batteries have apparently been addressed by Sony to disallow this.
Why wouldn't you want to be able to be able to play your other game systems on your psp? Man it makes for a much lighter load to carry than all those systems.
Just my thoughts... By no means the law of the land.

Want to mod psp slim (God of war), but I have a few questions first
I'm really looking forward to modding it, as I've been doing quite a bit of research on it for the past 2 days and watching youtube videos also. I don't know if its best to wait (which seems sorta hard as i want to mod it now ) and just buy a pandora battery, or go ahead and cut open my battery, risking ruining it and still not having a pandora battery. And I won't be able to get a pre paid credit card till monday. |

yeah probley best bet to do. I love my psp, but I don't want to ruin the battery and then have to put out $35 for another battery and then spend $12 on a pandora battery. how is Dealextreme with shipping? how fast? If i order it Monday night, about how long do you think, it will be for it to get shipped? |

Want to mod psp slim (God of war), but I have a few questions first
1) what percent of people get sparks? or fire, or it explodes trying to open it?
depending... most "newbie" get about a spark on the first and second try of hardmoding. some newbie gets a fire because they puncture the cell while trying to pry it open...lol
3) which side do i open the battery?
you have to use a sharp object (like a razor) to go all round the edge to get it lose... before you try to pry it open
4) should I try to open it outside? (incase it sparks or starts on fire)
you dont need to open it outside.... spark is small... maybe a litte smoke... it only start a fire if you puncture the cells... then that is a big problem... and you'll start a house fire. |

I'm just gonna buy the pandora battery, as I know that even if I get it to work, I'll end up having to buy a new battery anyways and that cost more than double the amount than the PB at dealextreme. |
