Default PSP working extremely slow

I am having issues with my psp, its working extremely slow.
It used to play the ISO games i have on my memory stick, it still sees them but errors out when i try to play them.

I formatted the memory stick and it still does that.

Also when I turn the console on, the GUI shakes, sometimes sound goes on and off on its own.

What can I do to fix this issue.

Currently running: 4.01 M33-2 (custom firmware)
its a fat psp

Hit select from the xmb and make sure that both your CPU speeds are set to 233 or 266 - It's pretty easy to change them accidentally...Last time I did it it ran so slow that I couldn't even change the settings back, had to repandorize it to bring it back to life.

That may or may not be your issue, but check it first and then post back.
