ok i had a look behind my psp battery (slim), and looked on the psp console, theres this date code, what does yours say? to give people an idea, if its the same as someone elses and its been cfw'd then you are fine, well in thereoy anyway, cant hurt to check the date code thingy

my psp slim 2004 says 8b and its from china my battery is from japan :|
Can't make the battery pandora so i ordered a tool battery, which im gonna test tommorow.
I bought my psp slim & lite black piano edition about a week ago in the Netherlands.
I hope it's not going to give me a lot of trouble :/

im interested in his question.. friend wants cfw but i told her to wait because of the new motherboards.. we dont know what it is so were waiting to see if theres a way to find out WITHOUT opening up the psp =[

My psp slim 2004 with date code 8b is and TA-088 but no v3 luckily, if your psp is from or before that date i think you'll be safe.

all psps up to god of war and madden can be pandoraed.they have ta-088 motherboards but its not the motherboard thats the issue but the new cpu chips in certain ta-088s.so far the only one i know of that falls into this category is the mint green psp that comes from asia

Here is how you can know %100 if you have TA-088. Remove your battery and look for a FCCID: if you have a AK8PSP2001 you have a TA-088.

the gow has a ta88...and it goes to cfw just fine...just throw a mms and a pandora and it and go to town...it shouldnt die...i dont see why it would. And if for some reason it does take it back with your reciept and ask for a new one or your money back...just dont say you tried to put cfw on it and you will be fine...they will just think you got a bad one...which you did.
