mini usb to male connector + 32gb usb flash drive?

I'm gonna buy a psp slim since i loved my regular psp. I want to use an adapter to convert mini usb to normal usb and plug a 32gb usb flash drive into so i can save alot more movies, music, and pics on it. Is this possible? I'm really experienced with computers and i don't think it'll work since the psp won't know what to think of it since it would have to assign drivers. How can i get the most storage space for a cheap price? I could just throw an 8gb memory stick pro duo for like $50 but i'de like more space.

they make 32 gig pro duo sticks now if im not mistaken.im unsure if your method would work but meh its worth a try

No the USB flash drive needs a power source to work.Your slim charges usb but I don't think it powers usb.Try it with an old flash drive before forking out a large sum of cash.google on the go portable HDD.That is the way to go,it's a small bat.powered portable HDD.The thing is it will only work as a storage unit.

The USB port on the PSP does not output any power at all. On top of that, the PSP can not operate as a USB host. Accessories like the camera and GPS receiver draw power from contacts inside the two slots on either side of the PSP's USB port and act as USB hosts. Common USB flash drives can't do this. They are guest devices and can only operate when a host is connected.
