Let the games begin

Hi all....although i'm not entirely new to 'modding' a psp, i have been out of the game for a while. Currently, i have a psp with 1.5 firmware, and i have Devhook 0.52 installed.....i can hear the ooohhh's as i type.......
I'd like to install newer firmware so i can play the newer games, but have no clue on what to install and how. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.

I also have an issue with my analogue stick, but i think i may have that covered.
