Phat: bought on release, had it for about a year, speakers broke, tried to fix speakers and broke the entire psp...
Slim: bought on release>modded 4.01 ofw to 4.01cfw> bricked>fixed>fried motherboard after about 2 months
new Phat: 3.6ofw>5.00m33-3... its radtacular

well, look at the readme from sony on the upgrade, if any of that carries over, it may be worth it. Also, this prob hasnt been brought up, but you can get new umd casings online, and with dual layer cd's(they sell them in the mini size that umd uses), it might be much more cost effective, and tbh the movies are much better quality as well(I got "red eye" from a best buy auction for .99). But imagine almost 3gig of space on a umd for multiple games at less then a buck per....thats cheap storage.

i dont think any of the stuff carries over...

i didnt think theres actually a way for the public to get umds that you could put stuff on....im pretty sure sony made it so that you couldnt

sony made lots and lots of products that record to the same size disk lots of handicams out there as well as digicams that record to those mini cd-r's and dvd-r's, those are the SAME size as the disc used in umd, you just need the outershell, and those are also available., which umd is based on. all you'd need is the plastic casing to pop onto the dvd-r(mini), and those ARE available. so yes, you can. I'll link you to dual layered mini dvd-r if youre still in disbelief.

please do.....its just that i did a lot of looking around trying to find a way to games and stuff onto a umd and from wat i read, it was impossible at the time....is the umd disk the same as a mini dvd-r?
