Actually this is much cheaper. Plus you get to show it off. Thats why im doing it. Plus they now make 32gb sdhc cards and they are only a little more then a 16gb sdmicro

True, unless ya want a higher class 32GB SD card, those are still pretty expensive. Last class 6 32GB I looked at was running almost $300.

Hmm, just had a thought, is there ANY performance improvement with the higher class SD cards? Would class 2 cards do just fine, or would there be a significant improvement with class 6 cards?

I currently am waiting 'till tomorrow when my CR-5400 shows up, guess I'll know then, because I can try out 2 class 4 8Gb cards and 2 class 8 8Gb cards.

I will be modding mine today. i dont have a dremel but i do have a real sharp cutting knife that i hope works. I wont be getting the 16 GB sdhc cards till monday but i can do the rest today and use some smaller ones. I will post pics.

Cool, looking forward to some pix. Im sure you can make a whole with a blade, just be careful. Luckily the cuts are inside so really if its not cosmetically perfect, doesnt really matter.

i do however have 1 question. Are the SD card easy to remove once the 3100 is in place?

Mine are not, but if you put the pcb further down then where I did, it will be fine to remove them. I just didnt feel like dremeling the umd door. I have no reason to ever take mine out though. I dont seriously think I will ever upgrade to any more storage, 32 is actually more than i really need.
