I hope the guy you paid knew what he was doing. Did he know to removed the metal squares on either side of the USB port and put them in the new case? They are the threaded parts that screws screw into. | Just the faceplate? Do I need to take out the other parts to be able to pry them out?
The PSP is not at me at the moment, I will give it a go once I got it back.
Sadly not, he did not transfer the metal squares at the USB port and kept giving the same lame excuse that the things will not fit my new case. He also broke my original R button's conductor and had to replace with a third-party one, now I can't stop thinking I could have done a better job myself.

(eminem) But srsly, he needs to burn in hell.
I'd have him replace my whole PSP if somebody even dared put 3rd Party hardware on mine.

I have watched every single as is auction for slim PSP's end in the last month. The best deal I got on one was 90. Right now, they mostly sell for over 100.
This is the cheapest one I've been watching right now and its at 60ish. I bet it goes for way more than that AND this one needs a new screen which is $40. Not much of a deal. AS IS Sony Psp Slim Black Playstation Portable Broken - (eBay.ca item 370089001086 end time 28-Sep-08 20:49:00 EDT)

I have one sitting here in front of me with no faceplate on, and it looks like I have full access to the trim to remove it. The little metal squares pop out if you push from the front with a small screwdriver.
I hope you didnt pay too much for this service. You should have just done it yourself. I hope you still have your old parts so you can get the threaded squares and trim off. You'd have to pull pretty hard to break the R button piece. Sounds like he didnt have much experience working with PSPs. |

Also, auction sniper, because Im never there when auctions end. You'd be surprised what stuff goes for. It may take you a dozen tries, but if you're patient, you'll get a good one for cheap.

BTW, not sure if it has anything to do with the case swap but my Memory Stick slot just stopped locking my MS a while ago, the MS kept springing out from the slot and I think something is stuck in there that I could not press the MS deep enough to lock it, I tried to press really hard but it just wont goes down, any idea?

You should be able to see a bit of metal. Use a tiny flat screwdriver and pry up on that an push really hard, it doenst feel like it moves much, but I kept doing that and they came out. Some cases have tiny rubber pieces in the hole that you may have to take out to see the metal part.
There are a few reasons for the slot cover not working. If youve got the clear case you should be able to see inside. Are the flexible parts hitting anything inside? If the slot assembly is not seating down far enough, it will actually hit the mem card slot itself. Ive alos had the rubber part itself start coming off the plastic cover, part, were you can see the 8 small legs of the cover go into the flexible part. Any of that help? |
