To get the squares out you have to push from the front side. You should be able to see a bit of metal. There are a few reasons for the slot cover not working. If youve got the clear case you should be able to see inside. Are the flexible parts hitting anything inside? If the slot assembly is not seating down far enough, it will actually hit the mem card slot itself. Ive alos had the rubber part itself start coming off the plastic cover, part, were you can see the 8 small legs of the cover go into the flexible part. Any of that help?

I fixed the memory slot thanks to your help but I still have no luck in transfering the metal pieces, there is a plastic UMD door locking thing blocking them at the back, and it looks like I would need to remove not only the faceplate to transfer them.

EDIT: My start button is not responding anymore, it worked before i took out the face plate, it clicks properly but the games won't respond to it. Any idea before I go look for replacement parts? :|

Ah right, you do have to removed that sliding part for the UMD catch to get the squares out. If the buttons on the menu bar stop responding I would reseat the connector. This means you have to lift up the LCD though. Now you might as well have just done the whole mod yourself.

DX sells clear ones for the phat too. Even cheaper than what I paid. I heard they are decent quality. Can't help you with led's I don't do them, but I'm sure you can search around for tutorials, lots of people do them.

Hmm, I inspected my PSP and it looks like it isn't easy to remove that sliding part, I would almost need to reassemble the whole thing, is it true? I have yet to try reseating the home bar connector, maybe later. Thank you.

It is easier to work on if you have the UMD door off yes, which would mean a complete disassemble.

I just have transferred all parts to transparent casing last night. It took me also 3 hours to finish. This is my first mod (hehe! i did it) only L & R trigger got problem thats why it took me three hours of dismantling and assembling PSP Slim.
I gonna try the LED reactive, still waiting for LEDs from my friend.
Anyone can tech me how to do it? I have searched for its tutorial but none found except for PSP Phat. Your help is greatly appreciated!

I've never done a clear case so I thought I'd try this from DX.

It's hard to tell the quality from the site, but I figured it was worth a try.

Here is how it showed up to me today. Came with everything needed, buttons clear nub etc.

And here it is finished. I give it a 10/10, I love it. I'm picky and really I can't find anything to complain about. Cheap and its made this abused PSP nice and new. The only thing I might try is white buttons, D-pad and nub. I think that might look better. Does anyone know where to get a white button set? DX doenst have them, and coolmods is too much money.
