Old Pandora battery and TA88v3. 09-19-2008, 09:21 PM   #1 (permalink)

Default Pandora battery and TA88v3.

I have regarding the Pandora battery and dreaded TA88v3 motherboard.

I have read around that the "pandora process" used to downgrade and install CFW will not work on PSP's with the TA88v3 motherboard.

Specifically, what I would like to confirm, is whether a properly made jigkick/pandora battery will, when inserted, used with their respective proprietary button combinations, make a PSP boot into that black screen I've seen on Youtube guides and such.

Where I stand, is that I've attempted to make a Pandora battery out of original Sony Slim battery, PSP-S110; Ive cut through the trace located near the nineteen down halfway through the board, I've also removed the leg on the chip that the trace leads too, and, upon inserting the battery, the PSP does NOT automatically turn on. Instead, when the power switch is toggled, the PSP boots into the XMB normally, as though the battery was not even touched.

Before I throw some more money out the window for a factory made jigkick battery, I would like to confirm the answer to the question above; reiterated here: will a properly made jigkick battery make a PSP with the TA88v3 start up into the recovery/developer mode with the blank screen?

Thanks to anyone who is willing to venture an answer to my question.

I dont think it would work, but have you tried the touch n swap method, Im just curious? They said you couldnt use a pandora slim battery to mod a phat, but you can with the touch n swap method, as I have done it. I dont have the newer ta88 to experiment with but you could just try it to see maybe. Worth a try maybe, cant really mess anything up.

is this the video on youtube?

i doubt that will work....the TA-88v3 is designed so that the pandora hack doesnt work on it, hence it being unhackable as of now....eventually though, it'll be hacked....everything always is

Im curious, how long has the TA88v3 been around? Im guessing they will be using that one in the 3000 also.

Well this is confusing, according to this quote from frost it is, which versions are not? So did they use different cpu's within the same version.

Umm the thing is:

The PSP-S110 Battery Models made in China can not be pandora'd.

The MoBo doesn't have anything to do with why the battery isn't working.

Umm what are YOU talking about?

A PSP-S110 battery FROM CHINA cannot be pandora'd.

It has the things ready to be destroyed so it can be pandora'd, but it doesn't work.
