Question Buying an 8GB on Ebay

Hey,
I am just wondering if the 8GB on ebay for $20 plus free shipping are actually the brand name Sony because I might buy it. Also, I heard that you cannot go past 4gb on these memory sticks in order for your psp to read the files and show up in it. Is it true?? I have a PSP-1001 (PSP fat) and I am not sure if this chip from ebay will work on my psp. Does anybody know? Please respond to these questions. Thanks in advance.

lol ebay. I laugh at them. 80-90% of tech on ebay is a scam. 20$ isnt A lot of money so i guess its worth the risk to see if it is or not if it is u can always get your money back.

Default Buying an 8GB on Ebay

I bought one off ebay for $20, shipped straight from hong kong. Came in Sony packaging, but the vacuum-pack was loose Definitely counterfeit. I've had a few incidents where I lost data on it, but found a program for the PC that let me recover corrupted data. Doesn't happen very often, but is annoying when it does.

If I were you the best option would be an 8G from "dealextreme" for a measly $16 all day long. They also have 16Gs for $45 and that's a steal.

All memory cards shipped from China are fake your will have a nightmare problem of losing data its better just to bite the bullet and buy a authentic one, today I bought 8GB Sandisk memory pro duo for $39.99 at Staples since it was on sale because it's Sunday and for the same price you could have bought a Sony one at best buy but it was 4gb so I got twice as much for the same price. Always wait until Sunday if you have a local shop near you and go when they have specials to buy one but never and I mean NEVER buy one on ebay it will not be worth your time unless you buy it for a few bucks and want to live with the hassle of losing data and maybe have slower read speeds.

Do you think it is better than buying a store band (Sony) memory stick off of ebay instead of a generic brand (Mark2).

Well you no even if its not real its worth it. I bought a 16 gb mem stick for$34.95 on the net. For that price it was obviously a fake but the retail for it brand new was $300. I took it to my local Game Force and got $82.37 for it, more than double what i paid!
Thats modern day hustlen xD

I got the "sony brand with adapter 8Gb for $20 off ebay" "BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE" lol. Just make sure it says like brand new from warehouse or something, that always seems to work for me.

yea dont trust anyone selling memory on Ebay. I got screwed out of alot of money on some fake 8G CF cards. I did file with Paypal and Ebay and eventually got a refund but the cards died after copying about 500 Megs. But right before my vacation was a horrible time to get screwed.
