Old n00b Question - PSP1002 with 3.80OFW, wanting to upgrade from scratch to 5.02genA 03-28-2009, 03:29 AM   #1 (permalink)

Default n00b Question - PSP1002 with 3.80OFW, wanting to upgrade from scratch to 5.02genA

Hi all,

Okay i've been lurking so many boards for about a week now. I've read so many tutorials, but they seem to be outdated and not applicable to my situation..and also I want to change my phat PSP 1002 with 3.80OFW to 5.02genA CFW...

So i've decided to post on this forum cause the community is pretty tight here, and ask a n00b question =)

Anyway, so i have this PSP 1002 series with 3.80OFW. I have two batteries. One official one which i'm getting a stranger to convert to pandora for me (he has 5.00m33-6 CFW , but i want 5.02genA. Is it better? But anyway i dont know if he has to create a MMS as well?). And the other unofficial battery is going to be used as standard/normal battery.

So, when i get this guy to create the pandora battery for me, i'm on my own when modding it.

I just want to simply ask, can I create a MMS with 5.02genA without having a modded PSP during the meantime? (Why can't i find a tutorial that can answer this question?)..

Or, do I have to create the MMS when the guy converts my battery? I don't want his CFW though... if i need to have it, is it easy to upgrade to 5.02genA?

Also, whats better - 5.02genA or 5.00m33-6?
Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks alot guys, bless you all.

no use the mms to install the mms, but then you can upgrade to 5.02 GEN A just like that

No, there is no mms for GEN.
And just to let you know, GEN fw is the same as m33 fw with the ultimate vsh menu plugin. Stick with m33.

Thanks guys,

Okay i'll stick to using 5.00-m33-6.

Can i prepare a mms for 5.00-m33-6 in the meantime without using a modded psp? Ie. the psp i have now, and without the pandora?
