PSP -$50 should i get it?

this kid i know might sell me a psp for $50. the only thing is is that the firmware's 2.6 and i think the motor in the UMD reader is broken. does anyone know if the UMD reader thing is fixable? cos 50 bucks is pretty cheap for a psp lol

yeah i know him..he's in my class at school. the psp isn't in bad condition, it's just the umd reader that's broken

you could buy a new umd drive from xboxrepairguide.com ...and dont upgrade to 2.7 or you will lose your homebrew capabilities

that umd drive is only 20 bucks...i was expecting it to be a bit more. i think i should get it. and yeah i know not to upgrade. i just hope more shit comes out for 2.6

if you have money, id say you try it, ubt otherwise, i dont think you should, as it cold be a bigger problem, something underlying.

ohh ok, i was trying to help you determine if this person was trustable,

if this was just some kid down in an aleey, id recomend, handing him 5 bucks to play the psp, then run away with it.

but unfortunately he goes to skool with you,

btw about the umd drive, im probally garantee it wont be easy to fix,

i got a closer look at it today. everything works good, and i'm almost positive in the umd that the motor is jusst shot. the laser works. if i can't fix it then i'll ask my tech teacher. maybe he can help lol

if i fuck somethin up, i'll sell it for parts on ebay. the lcd works perfectly

Its up to you what you do but what I think is, you will put out more money than you would if you buy a new PSP. I dont know. Just a thought.
