8 GB stick - game save problem

Hi!

Today I bought Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo (Mark2) 8 GB, put it into my PSP, formatted it using format function, copied few games, free space remained something over 6 gigs.

After starting any game it says that there is not enough free space??? so game is unable to create savegame file.

Since I had 5.00 M33-3 firmware i flashed it to 5.00 M33-6, hoping that it will solve the problem, formatted memory stick again, but with no luck.

4 GB sandisk stick works perfectly.

Help ... please.

your stick is probaly fake check by pressing triangle n memory stick then press information and if it says magicgate unknown it is fake

It could be a fake.. but i have over 20 8gb cards, all from amazon and all say magicgate : unkown. But they all work perfectly well and have done for the last year... could it simply be a crap fake card thats dead?

Well I just checked it and it seems that card is not fake ... information says:

User capacity 7676 MB
Free space 7675 MB
MagicGate Supported

What now?

Its been said that some old games dont support cards with that much memory. So just fill up the card with porn (or other stuff..) until theres like 2gb left and it should work.

Have you have a good antivirus in your PC, because it happen to me one time and the problem was a Virus, i think it was the Ambo, cause i was formating over and over the Memory Stick but only give me 1 Gb on a 4 Gb card, meavy you can try that.
