I currently own a PSP with 3.90 M33-3 software installed on it and I just bought a really good PSP game I can't wait to start. Problem is, the UMD isn't being read by the PSP for some odd reason. I know it isn't the game because it is new and on the screen I can see in the bottom-right corner it's trying to read it but can't quite do it. I tried moving the small compartment inside the UMD drive with the laser lens to the left and right but still nothing. Any help? PLEASE! I can't return the game since I took it out of the seal it was wrapped in so Thanks for reading.

you double posted btw.

bring up your vsh menu (press select) and switch your umd mode to one of the other options... normal, m33 driver, etc and try the umd again.

Yes I know I double-posted, I tried to delete it but wasn't given the option to...

I tried doing what you suggested but it was still never read, the little icon just kept showing it was trying to perform an action :-(

Try some canned air in your UMD drive, or if you can reach it, clean off the lens with a q-tip and a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol. be gentle, just wipe very gently, dont scrub it. And try not to get any lint in there from the q-tip

The same thing happened to my PSP Phat...The UMD drive would just read the Game indefinitely, and never actually load it...I thoroughly cleaned the lens, took apart the PSP to see if I could tell what was wrong, but couldn't figure it out....

In the end, I just replaced the UMD drive with 32gb of space

I want to fix the UMD drive even if it means replacing it with one that works, but I don't know how to do that and even if I need to considering the lens seems to be working enough to recognize there is something in the UMD drive.

I have no idea how to fix it....If you want to replace the UMD drive, I'm sure there are good tut's out there if you just search for it.
