Non-functioning L button
Hey guys, my PSP 2000 (white) has a non responsive L button.
I've opened it up before and as far as I could see nothing was wrong...
I haven't removed the mobo before, though, as I'm scared too D:
The button feels and looks normal... But it seems as though it would be "unplugged" or something...
I'll re-open it, but I need to know exactly what I'm looking for
Thanks in advance.

Check and make sure that the conductive ribbon is connected to the motherboard fully. If it is, then there is a good chance that it has gone bad. You might be able to get a replacement from DealExtreme.com, but I can't say that I've seen them there for the Slim.

That was around a year ago.
I'd like to put that behind me and start new.
But if I make a new account both will get banned -_-.

I registered just to post this.
My PSP had the same problem.
Buy this - search on focalprice for Right Left Button Bar Membrane Flex Ribbon Cable for PSP 2000, it's $5.74 USD w/ shipping. I can't post link with less than 15 post.
You do need to disassemble your PSP, after you take out the LCD, just work on the left side of the PSP, you don't need to disassemble any of the cable or AC plug etc on the right side.
For the cable itself, just rip out the old one and put the new one it. It's not as good as the original, it's not responsive, but it will fix it. Pretty easy, about 1.5 hr work if you never took the PSP apart before. |
