It's been tried many times and isn't possible.

Will this help? 1.8" USB 2.0 Aluminum Hard Drive Enclosure for Toshiba 1.8" Drives (iPod)

It's $20 and looks like it MAY fit inside the psp (may be more possible with some extra modding lol) But thats what I was talking about lol Dont know if thats what you were defining as impossible

Edit: Correction, you can find it on ebay for less than $5. Just look up ""1.8" hard drive enclosure"" but that is...if this helps.

I don't see why a photofast wouldn't be acceptable (You could put up to 32GB in) and this goes through your mem slot. If you're handy with tools, you can take it out of it's caseing and mount it in your UMD slot (Acidmods.com has a tutorial on doing this, it's on my list of things to do).

YouTube - Mobidapter - View/Transfer files direct from USB Memory Stick to your Mobile/ Cellphone

The mobidapter
It changes usb to micro SD
It may need to go through yet another adapter, and not be very pretty for your psp at all, but it means there is at least a chance you can get a HDD connected to your psp

I found the tutorial for the photofast mod. You could ask around and see if maybe anyone there can get you what you want. But this may be the way to go as storage space and transporting your psp without a crap load of extra's go. This would still free up your USB if you wanted to use the Mobidapter.

That Mobidapter may work, but i think the problem was something to do with the SATA connection or some shit.

well, demon...overall you seem to have found the most practical of all possibilities, I like that photofast. Now is it possible to put SDs higher than 16 gigs in each slot? cause if you manage that you would be set for quite a while, That'll cover many full Isos and emulators lol

As far as I know, they will only handle two 16gb SD's, but I could be wrong. I need to get mine done soon, due to my jewel mod, I can't put UMD's in my drive, so I have to wait for a buddy to lend me his slim to put the game on a mem card so I can play them, which can take awhile because he is a man whore, lol.

It can handle 32GB SDs can't it? Or is that just the PF CR-5400 that can't?

I'm reading that the 5400 will only take 2x16gb and I'm getting mixed on the 3100. If both units carry the same, it's safe to assume that the 5400 would be the better option. One site says it can hold (2x16gb, 2x32gb) and other's say 16 is max.

Edit: After googling around, the 3100 can hold 2x32gb (Per QJ.net) SD cards, the 5400 can hold 2x16gb MicroSD cards. the 5400 is about $5 and the 3100 is around $30-$40. The MicroSD's are, on average, $10 more than the SD's (16gb micro about $40, and the regular about $30) I'm sure you can find deals on all these.

The Ipods and zunes used standard 2.5" "laptop" hardrives and that is what is supported by the witchain although You can get 2.5 in capacities up to 1T. (maybe more that is just all the bigger I have seen"
