Default Fixing my PSP power switch?

Sorry, didn't know where to put this. My PSP 1001's power switch works fine, but the little plastic nubs on it that make it easier to grip broke off, and I was wondering if it was possible (salvaging from a busted PSP?) to replace the switch, and if someone who is a total noob (like me) could pull it off without ruining my PSP.

Also, as a side note, my PSP sometimes doesn't want to shut off, whether from the switch or the M33 menu. Is it hardware related? Because it did that back when I had OFW.

Thanks for helping a n00b!

No, no, no. It's "step, pivot, step, pause". Are you TRYING to piss off the volcano god?

If you have a spare psp to salvage the part from, yes you can take off the switch and install it in your current psp.

First you'll have to remove the Faceplate, Home bar, and the Lcd screen (Screen you don't Have to, but it'd help.), next you're going to want to pry the power board up with a small screw driver or other object you can use, by sliding it inbetween the black clamp, and the power plug-in. Gently lift up and it should pop up without a problem. Next you'll have to remove the little yellow piece of plastic that holds the switch in place, you can do this by pressing down the switches clamp and while moving the yellow piece to the left. After you have it off the switch should just all out. You'll be able to do it no prob I failed at explaining it, but you'll know when you open up your salvaged psp first and look at everything.

He has custom firmware, he mentioned that he was having a problem with turning the psp off back when he was on Ofw as well, which would mean it's something hardware related, yes.

Sorry for being a noob, thanks though :P

So, will I have to replace my entire power switch in the future possibly? It doesn't happen all the time, just randomly.
