1 - PSP2001 Blue Madden hackable?
I have a Blue Madden PSP, the serial number under battery is HU8783835 and the number on the bottom is AM087838350-PSP2001.
I've read so many posts and watched videos and am still confused. I tried to separate the face of the PSP to somehow figure out which motherboard my psp has, but was unable to. Didn't wanna break it, not 100% sure on how to take face off anyway. Can I get some credible help on how I can hack this thing. |

About 50% of these are hackable, 50% are not.
What is your current firmware, and approximately when did you buy it?

The last digit in PSP models is simply the region.
PSPx000 - Japan
PSPx001 - USA
PSPx002 - Australia

PSPx008 - Russia

Okay, it's a bit more likely now that your PSP is hackable. The first batch of Madden's had 3.95 (hackable) and the second batch were 4.01 (unhackable). I have heard rumors that *some* of the very late 3.95 Madden's were actually ta-088v3's and were therefore unhackable but I can't personally confirm this.
Your PSP should be hackable though.

ok so what's the best/preferred method?
Like my original post stated, I've seen so many "guides" and instructions I'm still confused about the method. My friend has a pandora battery that I could use and I have a 2gig memory stick that is still fresh out of the box and untouched.

9 - PSP2001 Blue Madden hackable?
Easiest way would be to make a MMS and borrow your friends Pandora. If you insert the MMS while holding the Left trigger (If you use Rains) then the Pandora and the install menu pops up, then you have a hackable Madden (Lucky you  ) If you insert the MMS and Pandora but nothing happens... Either F'd the MMS or you have a unhackable board.
If you're below or at 5.03 ofw, you can use ChickHen R2 -> Pspident to see which mobo you have. ChickHen can be a real bitch to install sometimes though.
Plenty of guides around for both MMS and ChickHen. | |

why don't you pop in a pandora and mms and see what happens xP you'll find out pretty quickly if it is hackable or not.

12 - PSP2001 Blue Madden hackable?
so i ran pspident and it is hackable.
I did hack it and now running 5.00 m33-4.
How can I update to 5.00 m33-6?
oh, I can play games from ms, but not UMD.
tried to disable umd then enable, tried m33 and sony .
no luck. it keeps suggesting that i upgrade to 5.55. not gonna do that obviously, cuz thats official firmware right? | |

google "5.00 m33-6" download it then google "5.50 gen d" and "gen d2" download it and install "m33-6" first then "gen d" then "d-2". this should get u to the lastest cfw
