Default shredded screws

I was replacing the screen on my psp and i was stupidly using a #00 screw driver (apparently I need a #000) this made one of the screws on my psp circular instead of cross shaped, I just ripped the face plate off and it brought the screw through with it. I have just bought a new face plate and was wondering if there are any screws the right size for the psp but with a bigger head on so that it covers the big hole that the face plate took with it, if not no worries i can live with the faceplate hanging off slightly
cheers

i'd say check a hardware store or maybe a watch repare store though if you ripped the screw out with the faceplate you might have and most likely did mess up the threading if not at the face of the hole further in so you might need to rethread with a tap and dye set.

best way to rebuild threads is to add a drop of super glue. tapping new threads will require stepping up to a larger screw. the super glue method works like this: add a drop into the screw hole, then thread the screw in. let it dry, then back it out. instant threads. its good for low milage areas like a faceplate since its only good for one use

thanks

its a one shot deal though. u can only thread the screw in one more time after removing it, otherwise the threads all apart. i learned this trick from the R/C car hobby, since u sometimes had to fix a stripped hole in a plastic part, and this is the quickest way to do it
