homebrew are applets, tools and programs that were brewed at home. more specifically, they are user created and coded programs that are not otherwise avalible by the original product retailer...

so all the CFW are examples of homebrew? i'm glad that's out of the way. ok, i guess that leads me to my next question...I have a new slim psp, bought it 2 days ago, and as soon as i started it up I upgraded to OFM 3.93. What am I supposed to do now to get some free psp games running on my psp?

well first off, you need a MMS and a pandora's battery. use the guides section to find out how to get them.

oh and after you do that, dont go asking people on this forum for links to download games. its not allowed here

the battery puts the psp in service mode. it tells the psps to boot from the mem card. the memcard has the files on it to boot the psp and install the cfw

Downgrades your PSP to Firmware 1.50 which will enable you to use homebrew apps, but if you want to play PSP games and PSX games on your PSP, then upgrade to a Custom Firmware, such as 3.90 M33.
