yo guys i just thought i would drop by and say whats up. i dont own a psp yet im getting one this thursday and i found this site on google and thought i would check it out. and i was wondering if i back up the games i buy can i back them up right to the memory stick or do i need to downgrade the firm wire. if that question is in the wrong spot feel free to move it or ask me and ill repost it where it needs to be.

depending on your firmware, you will need to downgrade to 1.5, and then upgrade to 3.03 oe-c, a fake firmware that lets you play back ups, emulators (SNES, NES, etc) everything is available on this site, look at the stickies and use the search button!

not unless you had custom firmware, if you follow directions perfeclty and READ EVERYTHING you should be fine...

Yea, you have to downgrade to 1.5 then upgrade back up to a custom firmware. But only certain SONY firmwares can be downgraded. I have a thread in the firmware section that explains how to tell from the NEW PSP BOX what firmware the psp has before you buy it. I would suggest trying to find a psp with 2.71 as it will be the easiest for you to downgrade. Although 3.03 IS downgradable, you need a certain game in order to do it. So look at the guide i made, then buy yourself a 2.71...good luck and post if you have any other questions that cannot be answered by the already posted threads....
