Greetings.....I am completely new at this....I got my psp by chance, and am pretty bored with it....so I figured I would mod it because everyone tells me thats the thing to do.....problem is....I have no idea even where to start or how to do it....can anyone point me in the right direction....I have looked at some of the other parts of this page, but can't find any info that points me in a clear direction.....

That is one way to go if you have PSP firmware version 3.03. If you have something else, you need to use Pandora's Battery. I compiled a list of guides here. If you find any of them useful, please tell me. I'm trying to improve the list.

The next step is to install the custom firmware, start with 3.52M33. You need at least that version to install the subsequent M33 firmwares.

That is how you get custom firmware running on the older PSP fats. The process on the new PSP slims is very similar, but instead of downgrading to 1.50 you install the m33 firmware directly. I am not sure what the process there is, so someone else can elaborate on it.
