Hello, I am new to the mod scene. I have had my phat psp for a couple of years and heard about mods a while ago but never figured out how to do it. I was on craigslist and saw a couple of adds for psp mods. So I googled psp mods and a how to on youtube popped up. Finnaly I figured there had to be a good forum on this subject which lead me to this site.

Alright well first of all, what firmware do you have? Check system settings on your psp to find out if you don't know how to get to it.

**Do you really have custom firmware already or did you just put that in your profile?

So you've got 3.9. Pretty sure the only way to get custom firmware from there is to use pandora's battery. There's probably quite a few guides on this forum and if you're having more trouble google can find you hundreds more.

As for what you'll be getting for converting to custom firmware, you can modify just about every aspect of a psp, from custom themes to playing ps1 games.

You read my mind, I was reading about the pandora's battery and that was what I was lead to believe. Do you think I should send out my battery to someone on this forum or someone local to me for $25

It's all up to you. If you choose to do it online, just make sure it's a trusted person of either this site or another popular site. I personally just did it myself the second day of me finding out about custom firmware, however most won't recommend doing it yourself with no experience. :P It can be done though.

No problem, good luck getting yourself on custom. It's worth it.
