    welcome to pspmod!

i would prolly go with modding a psp myself but thats just me. if you do mod it yourself, your gonna need a pandora battery so you may want to research up on that. also you may want to do some research on a magic memory stick for you will need that with the pandora battery

no problem, after you do the reading, you can decide if you want to make one yourself or take a shortcut and order one from the site in my sig. whatever you choose to do, good luck and have a fun time modding

well you only have to solder if you want to transform your battery back to a normal one, which is why people recommend buying a spare battery so you have both a normal battery and a pandora battery

m not really sure...but do you guys think that (1) I should buy the psp (white refurbished slim for $160) and get the pandora kit and flash to the CFW 3.9 or (2) buy a premodded (with CFW 3.9) psp slim for $220.
I want to go with option 1 since its cheaper (psp+pandora kit for $220) and if I go with option 2 i would still need to buy a Pandora's kit for any future firmwares.
    What do u guys think

all depends really , is it worth more to get the battery or get it already prefabbricated.... as such yeah you would still need to get a battey if you needed if something ever happened. if i were you check places and sites near you and compare the prices and ask others to see what the usually going rate is for the stuff and make a decision from that

Yes I've been on ebay the past week and all premodded psps with CFW are going for $220 with shipping.....I think thats expensive, but if i got the Pandoras kit for $60 and get a psp with FW 3.90 i can use the kit to upgrade to CFW....in any case I will still need to get Pandora's battery and MMS for future CFW
