It doesn't matter which system you get. But I recommend the Daxter bundle because it comes with a 1GB memory stick. You don't need any accessories except maybe another battery. When you get your PSP, tell us what firmware it is, it'll probably be official firmware (ofw) 3.90, if it is then use the guide in my signature down below. That will get you over to custom firmware (cfw).
As for games. Since you want to play Crisis Core you should go get it legally, as in buy it, and then rip it from your UMD drive to your memory stick. Or you can steal it by using things called torrents like most of us on here do. But don't expect any of us to tell you how to get it illegally. The same goes for the final fantasy games.
EDIT: Or you can just go with Klause's PSP. Actually, you should just get his PSP, it has everything you need and want. |

Well, there isn't any problem with playing PS1 games on a Slim so you don't have to worry about that. The only thing that's difference between the fat and slim PSPs is that
1) some of the old ancient homebrew (that you definitely won't use anyway) can only be used on the fat and
2) the weight difference.
And a 4GB pro duo is okay but nowadays a lot of us have 8GBs. The game ISOs, emulators, roms, and music take up a ton of space. But the two things you need to go to custom firmware are a magic memory stick (mms) and a pandora battery. And since magic memory sticks have to be between 512MB and 4GB then I guess you have to choose whether you're going to get two memory sticks and have one of them be your mms and the other be your main memory stick. Or the other route where you just have one and if it's that case then you're going to have to only get the 4GB.
And Klause isn't scamming you, the PSP he has already has everything you want so unless you're dying to hack it yourself you might want to consider his offer. But if you do decide to mod it yourself read the guide in my signature carefully because as I've read on this site frequently from people who try to mod to fast, it's really easy to fry your battery, so just open it up slowly. |

Slow and steady is good.
You don't want to spend another $30-50 on a battery when you just bought another to use. [that's if you aren't going to solder the pin back]
Yeah, mine is already modded, so that's done...I guess you could always downgrade it if you wanted to do a mod yourself.

Im still stuck with my 1 GB from when that was the big thing... =[
But also, you can convert your mms back... I just deleted all the stuff on it and it works fine as my regular stick.
