Welcome. As Major Zero said you can look at the guides, or if you want specific help, you can start by letting us know which version of Official Firmware the PSP is running. From that we can tell you exactly what you'll need to do to hack it.

Ok well in that case the two guides you want to check are the first two in my signature. You will need both a pandora battery and Magic Memory Stick to get custom firmware on the PSP, at which point you can do as your heart desires with it.

    thanks again killer3737 !!

their is alot to read !! - 1 thing i was not so sure about was the "time machine " or something of that kind i have never heard of this prog. Is it still worth using

and for the mms guide which firmware do you think is best for a total noob as it would seem best to always hit for the latest versions that come out... I think i have seen peeps mention v4.05 of the m33 firmware.

I think i said that right lol.

EDIT: Thanks Sn!p3r ... its ace lol

I've never used a pandora battery/MMS personally, i hacked mine when it was still possible via software exploits, but i believe if you follow those guides perfectly, you should end up with 4.01 M33 at the very least.

I know it's a lot to take in, just give yourself half an hour sometime and read through the whole thing first, then go about making/buying your pandora battery and Magic Memory Stick.

I'm a newb too, and I am going to buy a Pandora battery pack. Quick question before I get started. Do I basically just need 1 Pandora battery pack and mem card to get my custom firmware on the PSP? Then I can remove the Pandora pack and mem stick and put in regular battery and any other mem stick. So I can mod 2 PSP with 1 Pandora and 1 mem stick?

from my understanding you can still use the mms once you have uploaded the cfw as you can place games and anything else on it
