I couldn't either. My PSP is my baby. Did you get yours yet?
There's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

  3. #3 How to put music on your PSP
(Before you start, make sure your music file is either MP3 or ATRAC3plus; they are the only two formats that work on your PSP if it is below version 2.0)

    1. If you already have saved games on your memory stick, you'll need to follow the next two steps to create the folders you need. Do not format your memory stick, otherwise you will lose those saves.

If your memory stick hasn't been used for anything yet, go to settings on your PSP, and select System Settings. From there choose the option to format the memory stick. This will create the folders your PSP needs to store music, videos, photos, etc.

    2. Connect your PSP to your PC using a USB cable. On your PSP go to the settings and choose USB Connection. Your PSP should now say USB mode. Leave it on USB mode for now. If your PSP folders have already been created go to step four.

    3. On your PC go to My Computer. Here, you can click on 'Removeable Disk (E: )' (the drive letter may be different on your PC). There should now be a folder called PSP. Open the folder, and if there aren't any other folders there, create one called Music (you might also want to create one called Photo and one called MP_ROOT (then inside that, 100MNV01) for videos while you're there).

    4. Choose the music file you want to send to your PSP. You can do either one of the following: drag the icon and drop it on the Music folder; copy the music file then go to the Music folder and paste it in there; or right-click on your mouse, choose 'Send To' then choose Removeable Drive. If you've chosen the latter, go to the Removeable Drive in My Computer then move the music file onto the PSP folder, go in the PSP folder and move the music file to Music. Repeat this process until you've added all the music files you want to add to your PSP.

    5. Close My Computer and press O on your PSP to return to the home screen. If you have done this correctly your music file should be in music, ready for you to play.

To convert CD's into MP3 format

If you have Windows Media Player: Move your mouse to bar where it says ready. Right-click on it, then choose tools then options. Then click on the tab that says rip music. In those options you should see format. If it does not say mp3 already, use the drop down menu to change it to mp3, then click on apply then ok. Now when you rip music off your CD's, they will be in MP3 format. If you have any music in Windows Media Player already, you'll need to rip those CD's again, as they will not be updated automatically.

If you're using iTunes: Go to edit, then preferences. Then click on the importing tab. Where it says 'import using', use the drop down menu and choose MP3 encoder and click on ok. When you import your CD's they will be MP3 files, but if you have any other music on iTunes, you'll need to import them again so they'll be in MP3 format.
