    hey i got a slim i bought it and i think it alredy had 4.01 on it i am going to mod it cuz i dont like un-modded stuff (like my xbox till i "fixed" it) i think i am going to do a switch on my battery so i can un-pandora it so i dont have to shell out more $$$ even thought i got my psp free sorta lol but i was just wondering if any one can tell me EVERY thing i need like all the files e.t.c and if i need a wall charger i got like 100$ and live next to Ghetto-wal-mart so it shouldnt be hard to get waht i need

    Lol welcome to the site and for your questions you will need a mms (magic memory stick) an pandora battery witch you can make....oh um did u update to 4.01 or did you buy your psp like that?

    Yes. Most (Not all though) PSP 2000 that come pre-installed with 4.01 firmware have a newer motherboard, the TA-088v3 that can't be hacked. The Pandora/MMS method doesn't work, nothing does.

    oh dang... how do i tell waht mother bord i have and were can i get a modable psp? or pre moded for 100$ or trade lol dang that suck cause i am pretty sure i didnt update it i know

    mine is a older version of the 2000's

    well there are programs i think you can download to check but um how long ago was it when you bought your psp maybe you can get money back then go on to maybe craigs list and buy?

    Like i say SOME pre-installed 4.01's don't have the motherboard, and the older it is the better, more chance it doesn't.

    There is a method for checking if you have another custom firmware PSP, but the easiest way to check is just get a pandora and MMS and try. If you do everything correct but it doesn't work, then it's probably the TA-088v3.

    ... well funny thing is i bout that is...


    i hade a broken 2000 slim (screen cracked)
    so i went to ghetto-wal-mart then i bought the same one but new and shiny with a 2 year warranty
    then i waited a bit a switched the psp's and reterned the broken fro store credit (200) one and keep the new one but ionly got 100 now and its stuck in a gift card lol i bought a bucn of psp stuff 2 gb mem and case

    will my psp brick if it dosent work and were are these "programs" to check?

    i dont know if this is helpful but my psp came in the box with the clear viewing plastic on it

    No your PSP won't brick, the program just won't work.

    The program to check if you have the TA-088v3 is here, but like i say you need another PSP with custom firmware, and it's a lengthy process:

    i think ill just tryit then i really want to mod my psp.. i am at school so i figure ill collect all the software i need as my internet connection at home dosent work do i need a wall charger?
