Hey everyone, glad to join the forums. I'm new to this so I've already got some questions. I've already made a Pandora battery and MMS, but I can't install CFW, I get the "data is corrupted" message. I'm using software 5.03, so I guess I'll need to downgrade.... a lot. I was wondering is there any way to do this already, running on software 5.03? (No it's not a PSP-3000).

I'm using a fairly new slim, I'm not sure what OFW came with it. I think I bought it a bit after Crisis Core and Chains of Olympus came out. Tried those 5 steps but it just turns on like normal or goes black.

I used a different MS and I got some prompts. They didn't work, they said I didn't have a certain root file. Now it won't even turn on, I think it might be bricked. Any links or info about root files and unbricking would be really useful at this point.

to unbrick is to use pandora...
it seems you are lacking some files in your magic MMS.

but before that how did you get the pandora battery?
    buy?hardmod?softmod?
in your last post you said it turned on like normal.
did you remove the charger before putting in the battery?

i think you better recheck your MMS & battery as well.
it should have worked as zx6r99 says.

I made the Pandora myself with a knife and pencil, restored it and it seemed fine, but sometimes when I tried to turn on the PSP it would just go black. I'd turn it off and on again and it would work again. I know I've got a lot to learn about this stuff but just 2 more questions for now:
How will I unbrick the PSP, if it is bricked? Do I need a Pandora battery from the store?
And what files will I need to downgrade?

Also I'm using OFW 5.03 and I'm not sure if it's even possible right now.

for your PSP check this link first to CONFIRM it is modable.
zarz123 Guide to see if your PSP is Modable

to fix a bricked (a psp which had its firmware corrupted & cannot be turned on) you need both The Pandora Battery + The Magic MMS (a CFW is inside).
You can make both the battery & mms yourself.(as you already made the battery, check my signature for Rains Pandora Installer) Rains Pandora Installer enables you to make a magic MMS using your pc,just follow the step by step guide.

    the concept of pandora;
the MMS is inserted first into a bricked PSP,the battery is put in after that.
what the battery does is to boot the CFW inside the magic MMS.
the on screen menu will be displayed & you can then flash/install the CFW in the MMS into the bricked PSP (thus removing the corrupted fw & making it ALIVE again).

hope this helps & ask away if you have further questions.

I'm pretty sure I deleted the CFW install file from my MMS after I couldn't get it to work. So, am I screwed?

no no...what i mean is for pandora MMS it has a CFW installed in it and the pandora battery will boot the firmware in the MMS (not the corrupted firmware in the PSP) to make it work.after the MMS boots up you can then flash/install the firmware into the PSP to fix it.

check the link "is your psp modable" below to make sure your PSP is modable.

then check rains pandora installer to make your own pandora MMS (using PC)
as for the battery you can buy or make it yourself using "hellcats pandora installer" link below also.

if you have further questions ask away
