Your saying your on 5.5O O/fw?

If you have a slim you may be able to get c/fw, it depends on your motherboard. What slim do you have?

Color, and first 3 digit / letters of the serial number underneath the batter will help.

    Alright. I found out that it's a 2001 with 5.50 GEN firmware.
now I need to know if I can downgrade and/or hack it.

    you sound confused...
go to your system settings and type what it says under system information, if it's 5.50gen, should say, A, B(full), D, D2, D3

more info helps us help you better...

hah. I feel pretty stupid. It's 5.50 GEN-C (Full). That's already custom firmware, isn't it?
it makes sense because I bought it used. sweet!
