I have modded my wii and my iPod touch and now I am moving onto my psp. My main question is it possible to make an 8GB Pro Duo official sony stick into a magic memory stick so I can boot timemachine or something of the like.

Hello. I don't think anything over 4gb is magic-memory-stick-able, but a senior member might be more knowledgable.

You can, but its not recommended. 1gb sticks work best just because they are supported at any time you want to downgrade. Im not sure on which firmware update allows for bigger memory sticks, but im sure its around 3.71 or something like that.

1gb sticks are cheap, and you can use it to hack a friend's psp or another one of yours if you decide to get another one.

Lastly, welcome to the forums and enjoy your stay (:

the recommend range is 256MB-4GB while an 8GB should work don't be surprised if you have problems.

So long as the MS is Magicgate supported, an 8gb should work flawlessly. My 8gb Sandisk has never failed me in all the times I used it to flash via Pandora + MMS.

my problem is that every program i use fails on the IPL. It says that it does not have enough space. Is there a certain program I can use? I ordered a Pandora battery and received it yesterday and I only have an 8GB.

Thats just great, I dont have the money or the time to get a new memory stick. I just looked at it and its a Mark 2. I guess I ordered that pandora battery for nothing :/.

so is there no way to turn it into a mms?
