I just joined recently after finding this place with a Google search. Though there were a few similar places, this one seemed to have a decent community and some good guides for someone new to PSP modding. So I figured that I would sign up and later use this place as a resource. Also I have already read the rules, most of the guides, and a decent amount of other topics.

For those interested, I recently purchased a pre-modded 1000 PSP which has up to date CFW. Since I am new to the system in general, I barely know how to use it well though I did manage to install a couple of emulators this past weekend. Now I am hoping to figure out how to use it to modify a 2000 model PSP (the Daxter edition which I know can be hacked). I imagine that will involve using a memory stick and creating (hopefully using software) a Pandora battery. Perhaps that will be my project this coming weekend.

PSP Downloads | PSP Tool v1.00

Install that on the hacked 1k. Run, select battery options -> Make Service Mode

Second to last link in my sig for MMS; follow the simple readme.txt.

Insert both and install 5.00m33-4, you can go to 5.50 Gen-D3 afterwords if you want. (You can get the DL for D3 from the second link in my sig, cfw section; step 2.)

After you're done with the Pandora, turn the 1k on with only the Ac adapter inserted. Once it has boot up, insert the softmod battery. Run Psp Tool again -> Battery Options -> Make Normal.

MadManxD - Indeed I can. Some I am still trying to wrap my head around...

Jubbabubba - My 1000 PSP already has something that can make Pandora batteries though I forgot the name of the program and don't have the PSP with me at the moment. So is it important that I use the 1000 battery as the Pandora battery and not the 2000 battery? I have notice they are different and that was one of my concerns, whether it would matter which I used. Thanks for the help.

bigbossVII - Yeah, I write a lot as that is what I am used to doing. Often that has been a big part of my job. Thanks for the welcome though.

It's better to use the 1k battery, a Fat battery will fit in a 1k as well as the 2k. The 2k Can fit in a 1k, but you have to angle it in an shit. Much easier to just do the 1k.

Hellcat's, and i'm pretty sure Ultimate Vsh menu can also softmod. There are others I just cannot recall them atm :P

Hellcat's is what I have installed on the 1000 model. I knew it had something to do with cats. The process seems pretty simple, almost as simple as running homebrew on a DS. Thanks.
