hello there guys, still new in modifying psp, im using the first gen psp phat, yesterday i updated my firmware to 6.20, as we all know, that we cannot play iso games on this firmware, so im planning to do some tutorials posted on the site, regarding pandora battery (soldering the line 5 of the chip) and making a mms.

question, if i made all of this modification, is it okey to use the modified elements (battery and stick) for gaming (iso)?

    this forum rocks, thanks...

If I may, how do you get your isos to play?

there are already tutorials/guides here posted about making a PB and mms, installing cfw onto a phat with 6.20, etc - so what's the point of making another one here? its not new ground-breaking stuff...

whether you can use the PB as an ordinary battery would depend on whether you hard-modded or soft-modded it, no?

the memstick which was made into a mms can be used for ordinary purposes afterwards.

@FNQer, what do you mean by hard-modded and soft-modded it?

hard mod is when you open up the battery and you 'mod' the battery by mucking around with its pins (internal circuity). soft-mod is when you use software/homebrew to make a pb. sometimes when you hard-mod, you can't revert back to normal/standard but soft-mod you typically can (i'm talking in general terms, not only for pb) - but plz check up on this specifically for making pb...

i think hellcat has that soft-mod option for making pb...

since you have a phat, all phat's batteries can be made into pb. since the later version of slim, sony removed the ipl (or something like that) so that you can't make a pb out its batteries...

i got a pb from dx - so I didn't hard-mod or soft-mod. while its simple enuff to hard-mod or soft-mod to make a pb, i personally wouldn't muck around with the original psp battery - $7 or so (most maybe $20) for a pb from dx (deals extreme), whereas the original psp battery costs more like $50. i figure spending such small amount to get cfw installed is not a major outlay, without risking ruining the original battery. but having said my preference here, you can easily and safely make a pb - but i worry about ppl making mistakes with their original battery...

    hard-mod explained here - http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-har...g-redoing.html

looking for the soft-mod explanation - it should be here somewhere... i think for soft-mod, you (once?) needed to have a psp with cfw installed to make a pb...

you being naughty, trying to bait him with the ISO question? it's not as if, you really wanna know - coz you already know.

OP - plz read up on the subject of ISO/CSO (backups of your original UMD games), before asking any questions there. game piracy is a big no-no.
