    Hello,
i'm new to PSP. in fact, i still have not bought my PSP set. Want to find out from other PSP owners, what is the difference between all the different versions and what are the essentials accessories to have?

I would suggest taking time to read around the forums. GO to, say Compusa or circuitcity's websites and looking up all the accessories. There are a LOT of accessories.

I've got a USB cable with a charger attached by Nyko, a stick that you feel fits you, and a PGP. I beleive thats all ive bought i'm pretty happy with what i've got. Oh and go to this thread if you want the difference between FW versions:

smart move. Know what you are going to get first.

version 2.5 or lower and make sure the motherboard isn't TA-082 becuase there is no hack for it yet.

If you have enough money try to buy 2 gigs of Memory.
USB cable that adapts to the top of the PSP. The cable should be called Fire wire cable. One end has the firewire port adapter and the other end has a normal USB port adapter.

    adios

    so to start.....
PSP (version 2.5 or lower and check the mother board if you can..)
2 gigs (lots of music and videos)
PSP should come with a charger.
    AND
if you like tunes in the car ..get a FM transmitter... it works but quality is 50% - 90 %

And I gonna jump in too...if you have more money to burn and really want to create an on the go ultimate gaming device.....go with a 4 gig stick and firmware 1.5. It is worth every penny.....I love my 4 gig stick...and it is almost full.

theres a way to tell which psp is in the box by looking at the UPC code. search the forums for it. either that, or get a ebay one thats already 1.5
