I have a few PSPs (two fat ones, one slim) and haven't updated them since 5.50, hope I can remember how to upgrade them properly.

Yes, I intend to install the latest CFW on the PSP I use most, a 1000 model.

    **note**
if you have GEN cfw installed go to my sig and check on GENByPass

    get these of my firmwall:
    6.60LME-1.6
    6.60ME-1.6

if you know how to install cfws, its' the same process. but have to install LME then ME. run installer first, press X to install modules, run launcher, then update to permanent cfw.

Thanks guys. Do I need to start at the beginning, with a Pandora battery and magic stick? Also, does the latest still support PSX? My favorite games all time are the Road Rash series and I have those on there from PS-One discs.

pandora and MMS arent required anymore for installing custom firmware. they are basically only used for unbricking psp's these days. CFW is as simple as copying a file to your mem stick and launching it, provided your psp is compatible with running CFW

Everything seems to have gone well, new stuff works and old stuff still works. I needed that GEN bypass trick to even install Sony 6.60. And my UMD drive works again, huge bonus, I thought it was broken forever on this one.
